Reiner R.'s Diary

I Live in the Dandenongs and enjoy spending all my spare time out in nature. When the days are longer I travel further and camp out in the tranquility of remote places.
I find inspiration finding new species and interesting species. I'm up to about 65 odonata species for Victoria; with only the rarer ones lerft now new ones are harder to find.
My current photography equipment is a Sony SLT-A55V, shooting macro with a 90mm Tamron.

Red dragons of Meldale
The photos have been taken from 2009- 2013 all on our property in Meldale SE QLD.
In 2010 one of the most common seasonal red dragons were Red Arrows and yet this last season (2012-13) there have been only a few.
There are Wandering Perchers all year round. My favorites are male Common Gliders and female Fiery Skimmers.
The rarest here is the Dune Glider I have seen only 2, followed by the Pigmy Percher which is seen in summer... read more

Reiner, My mate Nath has looked at this and he reckons it's a Barred-sided Skink. He reckons they aren't seen that often. Good find!!
